1. Why did the IT group at Royal Caribbean have such poor performance and business status in the company?
- The IT group at Royal Caribbean have such poor performance and business status in the company because of the Silos. It is also because all the applications created by IT's were not successful.
2. What are the top three factors in Tom Murphy's turnaround of the IT function at Royal Caribbean? Explain the reasons for your choices.
- Communication. Tom Murphy boosts the communication flow of the company. He always interacts with the workers of every department for him to know the problems occuring in a certain department.
- Respect. Tom Murphy elevates the moral value of the workers. With his optimistic view in attitude he looked and cared for the dignity of the workers and IT's.
- Metrics and Time. Tom Murphy discussed the expected results and the job descriptions to the workers in a certain position. He centralized administrative responsibilities for more time in managing works.
3. Visit the website of Royal Caribbean. Evaluate the effectiveness of the website andthe services being offered to attract and serve the travel needs of customers and prospective customers. What could be improved?. Outline the business impact of your idea.
- The website is an effective one because it tackles about the beautiful places to be sailed.
The activities they can do, the hotel they can stay, the foods and many more. I think they should post some actual photos of their cruiser. By posting some photos of their cruiser they attract more customers because some customers are more focused on the design and kind of cruiser they would be staying. |
